USAC TO PARTICIPATE IN 2ND ANNUAL
“GATHERING BEFORE THE GREEN FLAG”

Race fans attending this weekend’s Second Annual “Gathering Before the Green Flag” expo at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis, Ind. will be able to stop by the United States Auto Club booth, which will include a look back at history as well as a look to the future (2009). On display at the booth will be a .25 Midget car, while other USAC race cars will also be featured in the expo.

USAC drivers have also been encouraged to attend for autograph opportunities. Representatives from USAC and other Indiana-based motorsport venues, teams, events, sanctioning bodies, manufacturers, authors and even artists are expected to be on hand to field questions and offer information. Everything from soap box derby cars to Indy Cars will be featured.

The “Gathering Before the Green Flag” opens Saturday morning, January 24, at 9 am. Doors close at 5 pm. Sunday’s hours are 11 am to 5 pm. A special opening ceremony, similar to the one held in 2008, is planned, showcasing all drivers involved in the exhibits. In addition, a proclamation from Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be read and a chorus of “Back Home Again In Indiana” by the Banks of the Wabash Chorus will precede the National Anthem.

The Lieutenant Governor and Indiana’s Motorsports Initiative Director Rollie Helmling are also expected to speak. USAC drivers thinking of attending should contact Heidi Drake at the USAC Headquarters for details. She can be reached at 317-247-5151 or by e-mail at heidi@usacracing.com.
