"Generation NEXT" Round 1 at Phoenix Next Week

The opening round of the 2011 USAC Mopar .25 Midget "Generation Next Tour" is slated next weekend (March 11-13) in Phoenix, Ariz. The 2011 tour encompassed a dozen events, culminating the weekend of September 23-25 at "Little E" in Rossburg, Ohio.

Drivers from as far away as Florida and the Midwest are expected to join drivers from the Southwest for the "Duel in the Desert" at the Valley of the Sun Quarter Midget oval southwest of the Arizona capital.

Signs-ins and heat race pill draws are scheduled on Friday, along with safety checks. Practice, heat races and lower mains are on tap for the 16 competing classes on Saturday, with A Mains set for Sunday, beginning at 9:30 am.

Victory lane ceremonies will follow Sunday's A Mains, with first, second and third-place awards for competitive classes and participation awards for Rookie classes.

Live video streaming of Saturday and Sunday action is scheduled on the internet at www.usacracing.com/usac_live, pending signal strength.

The "Generation Next Tour" also visits Nashville, TN, Salisbury, NC, Albuquerque, NM, San Bernardino, CA, West Liberty, OH, Hagerstown, MD, Milwaukee, WI, Indianapolis, IN, Lakeville, IN and Kalamazoo, MI.

The Phoenix weekend also serves as the opening round of the 2011 Machine Tool Supply "Southwest Series" which also includes points events at Albuquerque and San Bernardino.
