(Indianapolis) –   The United States Auto Club sends its condolences to the family of Dave Lesiecki, long time Quarter Midget Leader from Lorain, Ohio who passed away suddenly, Monday, March 3rd at his home.

Lesiecki, 47 years old, had been active in racing for many years.  He was a lifelong super modified racing fan which led him to quarter midget racing with his sons, AJ and Jonathon.  "He served as the President of the Toledo, NWOQMRA Club in 2005," remembered Daren Garmenn.  He also worked as a race official at Putnam for several years along with race directing with his wife Diane, the annual Rumble Series, Quarter Midget Division in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Remembered as a man who was respected by many, his true passion was helping others.  He really enjoyed seeing all of the kids race and wanted to help them any way he could.  “He was one of a kind,” said Race Promoter, Tony Barhorst.  “Larry Boos from Eldora and I can’t even begin to explain how much we cared for this gentleman.  He was a good Race Director.  He had worked with us for some 10 years.  He was opinionated, but he had a way of explaining and making things work.  His loyalty is what stands out for me,” continued Barhorst.  “Dave was one of those guys who constantly gave more than he would ever take in every sense.  He never had a chip on his shoulder and never expected anything back when he gave so much.  His enthusiasm, hard work and attitude is what made Dave Lesiecki and he will be sorely missed.”

“Dave was a great friend of mine and so many more. I always had the greatest respect for Dave and enjoyed working with him at the Ft. Wayne Rumble for many years. He leaves some large shoes to be filled” states Eric Rankine - USAC Director of Competition.

Lately, Mr Lesiecki was excited to venture into the 600 Micro Sprints this season with his sons.  He was on site helping at a Quarter Midget event this past weekend, setting up cars and helping others with their drivers.
Family will receive friends Thursday, March 6, 2014, 3 until 8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio.  Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, 2014 at 9:30 AM., in the funeral chapel, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M., at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain.
