If you missed the USAC .25 Mopar Midget Nationals - you missed one of the most coolest events ever! The event was one of the best events held for .25 Midget Racers and their families. The "Disney D" configured Track proved to be very challenging for many of the drivers, but the challenge was exciting for all to watch. Executives from Mopar, Disney and USAC met for 2 hours on Saturday afternoon. "Both Mopar and Disney were very impressed with the entire event," said Kevin Miller, USAC President. "Over 1,000 Volleyball Teams along with 6,000 baseball families walked by our track this week." Everyone of the Winners were awarded with a Traxxis Remote Control vehicle along with a Gold Medal from the ESPN Wide World of Sports and a USAC .25 Competition Medal. Several Media Outlets were on hand to interview drivers and get their perspective of .25 Midget Racing. ESPN Wide World of Sports interviewed over 28 drivers and ran coverage on their giant Jumbo Trons in the park all week. Car and Driver Magazine attended along with the Orlando Sentinel and West Orange Times Weekly.

A very special guest attended the closing ceremonies that were held in the ESPN Dome Facility. Mickey Mouse was on stage with the top 3 finishers as was top Mopar Executives for Victory Lane Photographs. In the end, drivers baptized their leader, Mr. Spink!

Next Stop for the .25 Racers is their National Event - "Battle of the Brickyard" July 7 - 10 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Sign says it all!!!!

J.R. Pierce got his chance for an on-camera interview because he was friendly to the camerman as they were unloading their vehicle. Something like... the right place at the right time. Frank and Craig from ESPN / Wide World of Sports were great with the .25 Midget Drivers.
Car and Driver Magazine sent Photographers to get a feel for the action at a USAC .25 Midget event.
The next day, Car and Driver Magazine sent their reporter who interviewed Ernie Irvan and his son Jared for a story about famous fathers spending time with their children.

Other publications on site included the Orlando Sentinel and the Orange Times Weekly.

James Spink, USAC Director, Driver Development, started off the ESPN Wide World of Sports Interviews that scrolled on the huge Jumbo Trons throughout the Disney Park all week. Many drivers were interviewed and footage of racing played for all to see.

In addition to the ESPN / Wide World of Sports Jumbo Tron coverage, small video screens in the park played more racing action throughout the week.

Nick Drake has his whole family rooting for him. Check out his younger brother Trevor's T-Shirt!

Enthusiastic Handlers..... give their drivers last minute directions before the race begins.

  More Racing!!!

Special Thanks to Mopar for your sponsorship. Without you, this race would have never happened!

Special Thanks to Disney for the wonderful place you provided for our drivers and families to spend a week racing. Thanks for the Water Station and the beautiful park, including the 'dome' for Award Ceremonies. And of course.... thanks for sending Mickey!
