If there is any QMA members that have not signed up for their chance to race at a Grands races this year, please take a second look at the Western Grands in Texas. The entire club has been working very hard to prepare the track for this event. We have a respectable number of cars preregistered but still have plenty of room for anyone still thinking about going.
Our races will start on Saturday with our Novice Western Shootout. We will qualify all novices and place them in heats. Then we will feature an "A" Main Novice Race will full Texas fanfare and trophy presentation.
Each of our "A" Main Grands Winners will take get to experience a unique Victory Celebration. After carrying the checkered flag, the driver will be escorted to a "TEXAS" style victory lane. Several of our members have been constructing this area for almost a year. We will have a very unique area set up for the so that photographers can get the perfect victory lane shot from multiple angles. The winning drivers will be presented with a cowboy hat that they can keep. They will also have the opportunity to hold and fire "with mom or dads permission" a authentic western colt 6 shooter into the air. After tech we will present the winners with a custom air brushed trophy helmet. This helmet will have a custom Texas themed paint job highlighting the champion class.
River City QMA has plenty of room, so make your plans to attend the First Ever Texas Grands........ Mike Lewis and the Austin Club

Mr. Pete Barnett opened the Nashville Track on Sunday for testing of the transponders scorings system and new safety lights. The 3 drivers on track were Grayson Pate, Dalton Gibson, and Cale Downard. The drivers loved the new red and white walls on the track. Nashville is getting closer to being ready for their re-opening date of July 10, since floods ravaged the track, in early spring, this year.

The long, covered staging area for the drivers at the USAC Mopar .25 Midget National event was packed for the morning Drivers Meeting.
Racing on the track with the Mopar Display in the background. With Mopars generous sponsorship,
together with Disney making it happen, USAC was able to bring .25 Midget Racing to one of the most popular Childrens Places in the World - Walt Disney World in Florida.
The Disney Event was super exciting for all of the racers. All day long, ESPN Videographers were on hand for interviews. At left - Frank and Craig are spotlighting JR Pierce. The Videos showcased the kids, the racing and the sport and was broadcast all day on the giant Jumbo Tron Screens inside the Disney Theme Park. Car and Driver Magazine sent a crew for the event also, along with the Orlando Sentinel covering the racing.
Mopar Executives, Disney Executives and USAC Officers met on Friday for over 2 hours after the race event.
"Everyone is very happy about the way the event has shaped up. Over 6,000 other volleyball competitors and 4,000 baseball tournament participants have walked by our race track this week," said Kevin Miller, CEO and President of USAC. "This was a perfect place to stage a race."

Executives on hand for the event were Pietro Gorlier and Jim Sassorossi, of Mopar along with Kevin Miller, President of USAC. The group, along with Driver, Ross Rankine, is photographed by Roy and Jason of Car and Driver Magazine."This was the first .25 Midget event Mopar Executives have attended and they were very please with how their brand was represented," said Miller.
